Relentless Advocacy. Transformational Results.

As trial lawyers, we fight for our clients’ rights daily in court, in negotiations, in arbitrations, against insurance companies, and in opposing government bureaucrats. For over 20 years, we have built a boutique firm that has helped clients obtain verdicts, settlements, and structured transactions valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars.  Our goal for our clients is transformational change. We cannot erase the past but we can win compensation to provide security for the future. The Francis Law Firm's motto is careful preparation, relentless advocacy, and transformational results.

Leadership

“This is the lesson: never give in, never give in, never, never, never – in nothing, great or small, large or petty- never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense.”

Winston Churchill

Charles has been extremely successfully…he is someone with great choices but has chosen to give back to his community…He serves as our university attorney, representing the interest of Saint Augustine’s. It is not just an attorney-relationship, he understands the history of the institution… He has helped the university through some critical times… He’s positioned the university in a much more favorable light. He works behind the scene to bring people together. One of his true assets is that he does that for the benefit of others.

— Everett B. Ward, President of Saint Augustine’s University

Charles went to bat for me for nine years in the Hammocks Beach case. Even when I was tired, he did not give up. He understood my family’s history and he became a major force in helping me to carry out my grandparents’ vision. He was a relentless advocate for me and my family. I am giving him Dr. William Sharpe’s antique shaving kit as a token of my deep appreciation. He and his family are friends for life.

Charles is one of the most brilliant, highly skilled attorneys in the country. He is a fearless advocate who takes very seriously the job of obtaining justice for his clients. After I was rear ended in a car accident, Charles represented me. He passionately litigated my personal injuries, which resulted in the second highest verdict for a soft tissue case in the state of North Carolina. He is a consummate professional and extraordinary human being.

[Charles’] pace and rhythm of speech allowed [Patricia Townsend] to relax and enter into a friendly conversation that the jury was simply overhearing. Charles is an excellent lawyer, who had instant identification with the jury. He had a passion for the case as well as for the rights of Damen Townsend. I think everyone could feel that in the courtroom.

I am very satisfied with the outcome of my lawsuit.  Mr. Francis was there with me all the way. He treated my case with the upmost respect. I recommend him to my friends. I know he will seek justice without hesitation. My son and I are most grateful for him. He has a great staff too. We have retained his services since our settlement in 2002.
